What’s the best way to keep rabbits from eating new tree seedlings?

Friday, April 25th, 2008
Chris asked:

I plant up to 50 tree seedlings every 3 to 4 years, I am constantly battling the damn rabbits. I put mesh rings around them but I don’t like having 50 or more of them things in the yard because they are a pain to mow around and look pretty silly. Is there something you can put down that will deter these fricking rabbits from bitting them off? or is there an easier way than all these mesh rings?

mmhankinson asked:

Our lawn is dying. There are brown patches all over and in those patches we find rabbit poop. These rabbits are prevalent around here. We have fescue grass and it is usually so pretty but looks horrible now. How do we keep from having to resod our lawn…these rabbits have been known to eat the entire lawn so that the owners have to do this.
